Samsung One UI 9 Update Is Here

Samsung One UI 9 Update Is Here: Galaxy S26 Gets New AI Features

Samsung has officially started rolling out One UI 9, bringing a new set of Galaxy AI features, personalization options, security improvements, and everyday usability upgrades to compatible Galaxy devices. The rollout began on September 16, 2026, with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra among the first smartphones to receive the update. Samsung had already introduced One UI 9 with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8.

The latest software update focuses heavily on making Galaxy devices more useful in everyday situations. Instead of simply adding visual changes, Samsung has integrated AI into several parts of the user experience, including photography, daily summaries, translation, document scanning and security.

My FanCam Makes Video Recording Smarter

One of the notable additions in One UI 9 is My FanCam. The feature uses AI to automatically track a selected person in a recorded video and keep them centered as they move around the frame.

This could be particularly useful when recording performances, sports events, family moments or social gatherings. Rather than manually editing the footage afterward, users can select the person they want to focus on and let the software intelligently reframe the video.

Now Brief Gets More Personal

Samsung is also expanding Now Brief with Generative and Editable Cards. Users can customize the information displayed in their daily summaries and create cards related to areas such as health, weather and video.

This makes Now Brief more flexible, allowing users to decide which information is most relevant to their daily routine instead of relying entirely on a fixed selection of content.

Another AI-powered addition is Now Nudge, which provides context-aware suggestions based on what users are doing. For example, while discussing plans through a messaging app, it can suggest actions such as saving a shared location or adding relevant event information to the calendar.

Creative Studio and Interpreter Get New Features

One UI 9 also brings improvements to Samsung’s Creative Studio. The software can suggest image-generation ideas based on upcoming events. For instance, users may receive suggestions to create a themed image or greeting when an upcoming birthday is detected.

The Interpreter feature has also been improved with a new Thread View, making it easier to follow translated conversations by allowing users to reference earlier parts of the exchange. Samsung says Conversation Mode translation is also faster, while compatible Galaxy Buds can provide quicker playback.

Better Scanning and Voice Recording

Samsung has upgraded some of its practical tools as well. Document Scan can now handle difficult materials such as curved book pages and folded corners with less manual adjustment. Compatible large-screen Galaxy devices also get optimized viewing, while Finger Eraser has been improved for cleaner scans.

The Voice Recorder app now presents summaries in a more structured format, using elements such as headings and tables to make recorded information easier to review.

Security and Privacy Get More Attention

Security is another major part of One UI 9. Security Brief brings important security information into Now Brief, including alerts related to malware, apps from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions.

Samsung is also introducing Privacy Alerts, which use on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts by apps to access permissions in the background. In addition, Scam Detection is expanding to more countries and languages, with Samsung specifically listing India, Japan and Canada among the supported markets for the feature.

One UI 9 Rollout Will Continue

Although the Galaxy S26 series is now part of the official rollout, Samsung says One UI 9 will gradually expand to additional Galaxy devices. Availability can vary depending on the device, country, language and other factors. Some features also require a Samsung Account or network connection.

Overall, One UI 9 puts Galaxy AI, personalization, productivity and security at the center of Samsung’s latest software experience. For Galaxy S26 users, the update brings several new tools designed to reduce manual work and make everyday tasks more contextual and personalized. As the rollout expands, more Galaxy users will get access to these new features.
